Fried Egg Golf

A digital clubhouse for golf obsessives

Fried Egg Golf had the voice, the cult following, and a mountain of great content — but their site was holding them back. We helped them relaunch on Webflow with a flexible, editorial-first platform that embraces their quirks and puts content first.

Tagging systems, playful motion, and adaptive layouts all work together to showcase what makes Fried Egg so beloved.

The outcome? A new digital home and 2,500+ articles and 150+ course galleries migrated from Wordpress to Webflow without losing a single grain of texture—or personality.

Challenge

Moving everything but the bunker sand.

The Fried Egg archive is massive. Nearly 2,600 long-form articles. Almost 1,000 image-rich content blocks. More than 150 meticulously curated golf course galleries.

It wasn’t just about migrating content—it was about reorganizing it, rethinking how users explored it, and rebuilding a publishing engine that could evolve with the brand. On top of that, SEO equity needed to be preserved, performance had to improve, and the tone couldn’t flatten. Every detail mattered, from taxonomy to typography. This wasn’t a lift-and-shift. It was a rethink-and-refactor.

SOLUTION

A flexible, fast, and deeply Fried Egg-y rebuild.

To pull it off, we built a custom WordPress-to-Webflow migration tool, tailored to handle the scope and specificity of Fried Egg’s content. We restructured articles and galleries inside Webflow’s CMS, ensuring every piece landed where it belonged—with smarter tagging, better flow, and a focus on discoverability.

The new design leans into Fried Egg’s personality: layouts flex to support essays, slideshows, and podcasts. A tagging system inspired by golf scorecard symbols helps users quickly scan for content types. Playful motion and microinteractions add life without distraction.

Still and moving imagery are central to the experience—sweeping panoramas, gritty bunkers, tight greens—all treated as storytelling tools, not just decoration. The result is a visual rhythm that mirrors a round of golf: moment to moment, shot to shot.

Highlights

Play and explore—without pause.

We developed a custom picture-in-picture media player that lets users listen to a podcast or stream a video while browsing the rest of the site. Whether you’re reading a course profile or skimming the latest news, the conversation keeps flowing.

A true digital clubhouse.

Fried Egg’s membership got a major upgrade. We built a custom experience that lets users sign up, manage profiles, access exclusive content, comment, and post to the community—all seamlessly integrated into the site. It’s more than a paywall—it’s a hub for golf’s most engaged fans.

“This one was special. We found the sweet spot between design and personality, letting Fried Egg be Fried Egg. I loved getting swept up in the imagery and content as we designed. Working with Beau and the team was a joy. It felt like building something sharp, unexpected, and full of character. The result is a site that feels alive and totally their own.”
